If you are planning on visiting the beautiful Arizona city of Phoenix, it is important to know a few facts about this great state. Known as the "Gateway to the West," Arizona has more than two hundred thousand miles of beautiful unpaved road that crisscross its expansive mountains and pine-filled desert. When visiting this lovely state, you will be able to take in all that Arizona has to offer: spectacular scenery, warm climate, and historic sites. In the year sixteen forty-nine, an English traveler, Mr. Patrick Henry gave a speech about his experiences traveling to Arizona. He described it as follows: "So as soon as we had settled down into our cottage at the Little San Carlos, a little distance from Phoenix, I took the train out to view the town of Phoenix. It had not been long since we had left Washburn, and the country was not very well known then. We found the city of Phoenix much less dusty, although the city had been subjected to many shocks during the previous century. It seemed to me that people had taken good care of the old ruins of the walled city." In reference to his traveling to Arizona he said, "I found the metropolis of Phoenix and the University of Phoenix both very interesting...I visited the beautiful Phoenix Museum of Contemporary Art, which has a wonderful zoo, and the Phoenix airport, which has easy access to the beautiful town of Phoenix. My companion and I enjoyed the charming little restaurants at the University of Phoenix, which have an excellent dining facility, a beautiful fitness room, and a nice and quiet courtyard. The atmosphere of the place made me feel right at home." As he was traveling to Arizona he did note that it was hot in the Sky Harbor area but the weather in Phoenix kept him fairly comfortable. This gave him the opportunity to visit some of the famous landmarks that the Phoenix area has to offer. He noted some of the beautiful buildings such as the Bank of America building, which was located in the mid of the city in an ideal location. He had originally booked a direct flight to Phoenix but changed his mind when he noticed that the direct flight was sold out. He therefore changed his plans and chose to fly on one of the several flights that are operated by the California Pacific International Airline which flies to and from the famous Phoenix airport. He had also heard that the Sky Harbor airport, which serves the greater Phoenix area, was not nearly as crowded as the much larger airports in California. He made plans to see the beautiful Sky Harbor and shopping area that are in close proximity. He looked forward to spending the day there because he really enjoyed the view from the observation deck. As the author got into his plane to head back to Los Angeles, the stewardess noticed that one of the travelers from Phoenix was missing a piece of his glasses. The stewardess retrieved the glasses from his seat and returned them to the traveler. Several other passengers on the plane as well as the stewardess asked the traveler to get medical attention as soon as possible. He declined, again opting to head back to Los Angeles. This experience made this traveler very aware of the importance of securing non-covid-material items from the public during travel to Arizona. It also reinforced the importance of securing these items in a self-quarantine area prior to traveling to Arizona. Arizona law provides that all travelers staying in the state for fourteen days or more must undergo a self quarantine before traveling to Arizona. This quarantine period is strictly enforced and is a requirement for anyone planning to visit the state of Arizona. You can read more on this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4q_lBHCzBE.
